How will I know where to camp?
The entrance to the campsite will have a guard tent for security. You will need to tell them your name and regiment. If you are not yet a member you will have to fill in a card with your name, address, regiment and the name of the person who introduced you to the Society. At smaller events less formal methods may be used.

When you have been registered you will be given an information sheet, giving the details of telephones, buses, pubs etc., and you will be told where your regiment is camping. If you so happen to be the first member of the regiment to arrive at the campsite you will have the task of choosing the campsite!

At your first event, you should find one of the officers as soon as possible to tell them who you are. If you are not a member but have come to see if you want to become one you should let the officer know. They will help you find a place and introduce you to other members of the regiment including the membership secretary as it may be necessary to fill in an Associate membership form.

What about my children?
The campsite provides a safe place for children to play in. The camp security and regimental grouping of tents ensures a level of supervision and protection that cannot be equaled. There is unlikely to be much in the way of play equipment but the children soon make friends and play happily together using their own resources.

During battles and at drill, the children need to be closely supervised to ensure they don't wander off towards the battlefield. Although we do not have an organised crèche system operational (offers anyone?) there are normally responsible people around the campsite all the time that are normally willing to supervise elder, well behaved children.

What about pets?
You are very welcome to bring your pets, but they must be kept under strict control. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times
